WHAT TO EXPECT IN YOUR FIRST CLASS
Sessions are one part work, one part learning and one part chill! Through this ancient practice you will learn the traditional Yoga postures as well as stretching and muscle releasing techniques that are specific to your sport and your position. You will also learn basic breathing and meditation tactics to experience what it is like to be present, free yourself from negative or doubtful thoughts and be laser focused on the field or court. In my opinion, this could be the most understated and overlooked benefit of Yoga to athletes.
Class is taught in an open and fun environment with an emphasis on body, mind and sport. The knowledge that your student athletes gain will allow them to reach their full potential in their sport and academics. I strive to help them to build positive relationships with their team members and become leaders.
For your first class bring an open mind and heart, comfortable stretchy clothing and your desire to achieve your greatest potential in your sport. Feel free to bring your own yoga mat, if not I can bring mats for sale or can provide one for class. Please no thick exercise mats, yoga is best and more safely experienced on a thin, tacky or sticky mat.
